2023 – PRESENTTRIPOLI, LIBYA

Close Protection Team Leader & Security Advisor — EUBAM Libya, contracted via First Call

Leading the protective team for the Head of Mission, EU diplomats and visiting delegations at the European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya, contracted through First Call, a licensed Libyan security company; advising mission leadership on threat, risk and security planning; secure movements in B6 armoured vehicles; mission security plans, contingency and medical evacuation arrangements; liaison with authorities, diplomatic missions and security partners.

2022 – 2023KURDISTAN, IRAQ

Security Team Leader & Risk Assessment Consultant — Dana Gas, Kurdistan

Led a six-member close protection team for Dana Gas executives at the Khor Mor field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, through a period in which the field itself came under repeated attack; residential security, secure travel management and journey planning; training and operational guidance for local security personnel.

2021 – 2022MOGADISHU, SOMALIA

Close Protection — Pbi2, on a US-funded development programme

Client protection operations and training of national security force personnel for Polaris Business Intelligence & Investigations (Pbi2), supporting a Chemonics-implemented development programme, in one of the world’s most demanding urban environments.

2018 – 2021SOMALIA & SOMALILAND

Security Advisor & Close Protection Team Leader — GardaWorld, Somalia & Somaliland

Security advisory and risk analysis for representatives of the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, United Nations and other international organisations; planning and coordination of secure movements, including meetings with the President and the Prime Minister of Somalia; incident management and crisis response across Mogadishu, Galkayo and Berbera.

2015 – 2018SOUTHERN IRAQ

Tactical Operations Team Leader & Security Advisor — Janus Global Operations, West Qurna

Armed close protection and secure escort for Lukoil and PetroChina engineers and specialists between oil fields, drilling sites and airports in B6/B7 armoured vehicles; protection of critical oil and gas infrastructure at West Qurna; coordination with national security forces.

2014 – 2015BASRA, IRAQ

Security Specialist Team Leader & Advisor — Olive Group, Basra

Protective operations and B6/B7 convoy planning for Baker Hughes expatriate specialists; clients repeatedly requested him as their permanent team leader.

2013 – 2014HELMAND, AFGHANISTAN

Close Protection — Blue Hackle, on the ITT project in Helmand

Personal protection for the ITT project manager and designated personnel; advance reconnaissance, journey planning and contingency arrangements in a high-threat province.

2012 – 2013KHOST, AFGHANISTAN

Security Supervisor & Manager — Combat Outpost Bowri Tana, alongside the 101st Airborne

Managed a 38-member Afghan security team protecting Combat Outpost Bowri Tana in Gorbuz district, Khost province, on the Pakistan border — working daily alongside C Company, 3-187 Infantry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division; ran the security operations centre, delivered training and strengthened base defence — endorsed in writing by the company’s Executive Officer.

2011 – 2012HELMAND, AFGHANISTAN

Close Protection Team Leader & Site Security Manager — GardaWorld, on the URS/AFCEE programme

Led a ten-member international close protection team and developed a 63-member Afghan guard force protecting construction of an Afghan National Police base at Nad-e Ali, built for URS under the U.S. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment. The site was attacked repeatedly by hostile forces from September 2011 — with zero security breaches.

2010 – 2011KABUL, AFGHANISTAN

Risk Assessment & Security Specialist Team Leader — Shield/Stratex, Kabul

Security risk assessments, site surveys and close protection for Potomac Fusion, ITT and ECCA, for United States Marshals and other US federal personnel, and for international organisations and contractors across Kabul; static security for residential compounds and offices; on-scene crisis management.
